One-of-a-kind collection of printer’s proofs from artist Mark King’s celebrated Augusta Golf Tournament series, produced by master printer George Rice & Sons and distributed through Martin Lawrence Limited Editions. Dating from 1988, 1990 and 1993, the three poster-sized works depict iconic Augusta golf tournament scenes, including Amen Corner. George Rice & Sons was regarded among the finest lithographic printers in the United States, and these proofs came directly from the personal collection of Peter Sargent, whose firm, Sargent and Berman, worked closely with George Rice & Sons. Peter managed daily printing projects there during this period. These proofs have untrimmed edges and were never released into circulation. They measure 27 x 36 inches, 27 x 33 inches and 25 x 29 inches. They have remained in their original box, which bears the printer’s labels, previously sent to film director Chuck Bigbee with Thunderheart, Basic Instinct and City of Joy written on the box.Every item is personally sourced through extensive research across estate sales, private sellers, and various vintage marketplaces.
